"The Drifter"
For years, I’ve found myself drawn to coyotes. They’ve existed alongside us through generations—adapting, enduring, evolving. From vast deserts to the coldest climates, from quiet valleys to the heart of big cities, they continue to move forward, untouched in spirit.
Hearing them howl at night has never felt unsettling to me. It feels like a reminder. A call to return to something more instinctual. More grounded.
.
Coyotes live in community, lifting one another up. They survive off the land, embodying a wildness that existed long before screens and noise took over our world. And somehow, even surrounded by radio waves and pollution, they remain steady. You don’t hear about coyotes losing themselves the way people seem to lately. They stay rooted. They live fully, freely—like we once did.
.
“The Drifter” is my tribute to that spirit—an animal defined by resilience and an unwavering sense of self. Never controlled by its environment, only adapting in ways that serve its survival.

Mixed media: wood cutout with acrylic finished with resin, golf leaf paintings, reclaimed wood mosaics, head and tail carved out of wood.
