Rooted in story. Guided by intuition.
Brandon DeNormandie is a mixed-media artist whose work bridges intuition, storytelling, and the healing power of nature. With a BFA in Design from the American Academy of Art, he developed a strong technical foundation that has supported his evolution across diverse mediums.
His practice spans multidimensional mixed-media paintings—layered with acrylics, inks, raw canvas, stones, driftwood, and other natural materials—as well as recycled-metal sculptures that honor the spirit and resilience of wildlife.
Brandon is also known for his atmospheric cloud oil paintings, capturing expansive skies that evoke calm, introspection, and the quiet emotion of open landscapes. Influenced by Western art, personal heritage, and a lifelong connection to the land, his work remains rooted in authenticity, spirituality, and transformation. Each piece invites viewers into a space of reflection, connection, and healing.
The Heart of My Work
My art is a conversation between the natural world and the human spirit. I work primarily with inks and acrylics on raw canvas, allowing the materials to move and breathe organically. Many of my paintings feature openings in the canvas filled with stones, driftwood, and other natural elements—moments where nature becomes part of the artwork itself. Layers of texture, green hues, painted trees, and rich earth-inspired forms reflect the terrain and energy of the landscapes that ground me.
In both my paintings and sculptures, intuition guides every step. I rarely begin with a clear plan; instead, I follow the flow of the work, letting texture, shape, and energy lead the way. Each piece evolves naturally, carrying its own spirit and story.
SCULPTURAL WORK
My sculptures are crafted from recycled metals, wood, leather, and found materials. I create animals and forms that pay tribute and respect to wildlife, honoring their presence and the lessons they offer us. Hours of cutting, welding, carving, and assembling go into each sculpture—a physical, meditative process that mirrors my connection to nature and my commitment to sustainable, meaningful creation.
These works often explore themes of resilience, ancestry, transformation, and spiritual growth. Whether inspired by historical figures like Sitting Bull, my lineage, or the majestic wildlife of the American West, each sculpture holds a deeper narrative.
PURPOSE & VISION
At the core of everything I create is the belief that art heals. Nature has an undeniable way of bringing clarity and grounding, and I aim to bring that same restorative energy to those who experience my work.
Thank you for being here and for supporting a creative journey driven by intuition, respect, and the healing power of nature.
