This piece truly is a reflection of my art skills using multiple artistic endeavors. Recycled welded steel, carved wood face, mosaic wood clothing using reclaimed materials. Painted canvas with an exposed opening featuring gold leaf paintings. The round panel in the background features a kinetic aspect using a series of magnetic aspects to let the viewer spin the background with a random outcome based on one's energy. The frame is also custom using gold leaf and reclaimed woods from the Early 1900's.
My latest pieces push the boundaries of my artistry, incorporating a kinetic rotating element that randomly reveals different spiritual meanings. As they turn, they create an ever-changing experience for the viewer, much like the unfolding of history and personal growth.
The other is deeply personal, crafted from the story of my Sicilian ancestor, a farmer who fought fiercely to keep his land, even farming with pistols in hand. After his father was killed by the mafia, he made the difficult decision to leave for America in search of a better life. This piece reflects the trials one must endure, but also the enlightenment that can come through struggle and sacrifice.
Western art has always held a deep meaning for me, and I pour that love into my work. The spirit of the land, the stories of resilience, and the raw beauty of survival all inspire my creative process. Creating these works meant using every aspect of my artistry—exploring new paths, merging movement with storytelling, and allowing the spiritual to guide the process. It was about more than just the physical creation; it was about growth, both in my work and in myself.
